So you’ve written your social media post and it’s almost time to hit ‘publish’.
But wait – what images are you going to use for it? All good social media posts need a great header image to help attract attention when they’re shared online, so where can you find great images that won’t break the bank? Here are our 5 favourite places to find great images for your social media channels. Unsplash Over the last few years, Unsplash has become one of the go-to websites for stock images for online use. They have an amazing collection of photographs that could fit almost any topic you could imagine. Their photographers offer their photos under the Creative Commons license. This means that they ceded all rights to their work so you’re free to use these images for personal or commercial use. To be safe though, we always recommend checking the individual license notes on any photo you download to use for your website or social media channels. Pexels has a broad range of images and you can search for almost anything – people, emotions, animals, places, landscapes – and you’re sure to find a suitable (and beautiful!) image. All photos are free to use and attribution is not required (although crediting the photographer is always appreciated). You can also modify their photos for commercial use. Website - https://www.pexels.com/ License Type - Creative Commons (CC0) Canva I’m sure you already know all about Canva and how to use it to make posts for your social media accounts, but did you know they recently acquired stock photo libraries Pexels and Pixabay? In May 2019, this acquisition meant that Canva added over 1 million free stock photos to their database. No longer do you have to find images elsewhere and upload them to Canva for use – you can simply find them right in Canva! They’ve also added a new stock photo subscription option called Photos Unlimited, offering all you can use images for just US$120 per year. Death To The Stock Photo Death To The Stock Photo describes themselves as offering ‘authentic non-stock photos and videos’. They have a subscription model and pricing starts from $12 per month. Currently they have over 3,500 photos and release a new media pack each month as well. Website - https://deathtothestockphoto.com/ License Type - Read their full licensing terms here. Burst If you’ve got an e-commerce website, Burst could be one of your new favourite sites for sourcing images. It’s owned by Shopify and has a fab range of photos which have been curated by business type. You can choose to download the images as high or low resolution as well. Website - https://burst.shopify.com/ License Type - Can vary so check each individual image. Don’t have the time to source your own social media images? Talk to our team at Frame Social Media today!
