4 MAIN ADVANTAGES OF OUTSOURCING SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING

1/8/2020

It is common knowledge to all of us that social media users are continuously increasing worldwide. But, just to have a clearer insight about it, Statista reported a whopping 3.6 billion users of social media in 2020 and it is projected to increase to 4.41 billion in the next five years.

Due to the popularity of social media, it has become a cost-effective strategy and opportunity for businesses to market their products and build relationships with consumers. Danielle Landero of StraightArrow stated that the most common misconception about social media marketing is that it is as easy as having a Facebook account.

As you are likely aware, social media marketing is more than just advertising your products on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or Twitter. It can only be effective if you can reach your target market with attractive images and provide them valuable and engaging content.

Social media marketing is a complex and time-consuming task that requires graphic design and copy writing skills. Here are the reasons why it is best for you to outsource social media management for anyone from business owners, to Marketing Agencies and corporate Marketing Managers:

1. Your time can be spent doing what you do best
We all know that creating engaging content involves lots of photo editing and content writing. Hiring a social media marketing agency to do all the time consuming tasks for you gives you more time to focus on what you do best. Writing, editing, playing around with images, placing them on a grid to see which layout looks nicer, scheduling, creating hashtags, is all time consuming work that is necessary but also not the best use of your time.

2. It can give you access to expertise in social media
Another advantage of outsourcing social media management is that it allows you to get the assistance of social media experts who really specialize in social media marketing.  Even as Marketing Manager, you might have spent your career writing strategic marketing plans and not delving into the ins-and-outs of social media. Also, these experts are knowledgeable of different strategies and techniques that are proven beneficial to your business and can share tips if you're not social media savvy.

3. It lets you be consistent
To ensure that your brand always maintains a social media presence and constant communication with your target market, you need consistency. Outsourcing social media marketing will let you have that consistency as most social media marketing agencies will post daily.

4. You can have a polished and professional social media platform even if you're not the creative type
Curating professional images can be difficult if you don't have a creative brain. By outsourcing you can have an aesthetically pleasing and professional looking social media presence without having to take a Graphic Design course!

Outsourcing social media marketing has lots of advantages. It saves your precious time, gives you access to social media experts and lets you be consistent.

Hopefully, these advantages will convince you to give it a try. After all, it will truly be beneficial to you and your business which makes it WORTH IT.

HOW TO USE SOCIAL MEDIA AS A LEAD GENERATION TOOL

1/7/2020

Most marketers have not associated social media with sales. After all, no one really buys products or services because of a social media post, right? WRONG.

Your social media can be a gold mine for leads. If you’re all suited up to move beyond brand awareness and engagement, then lead generation is the next step for you. Collecting leads is a good move to identify those who are interested in your brand, products or services and keep in touch with potential customers.

Whether you are new to social media leads or have used social media before as a lead generation tool, it's safe to say that social media has become a part of every marketer’s strategy nowadays—it is cost-effective and produces results. To put it simply, social media lead generation is the way to go.

Not that convinced? Here’s a list of stats to prove how effective it can be:
1. Social media marketing has reduced costs for 45% of businesses (Sprout Social)
2. Revenue increased for 24% of businesses when they utilized social media for lead generation (Sprout Social)
3. 59% of marketers worldwide used social media to improve lead generation quality (Ascend2 “Strategies, Tactics and Trends for Lead Generation Quality”)

So, “how?” you may ask.

We’ve come up with a list to help you rev up the engine for your next lead generation campaign using social media.

Pick the correct social media channel
Before anything else, you might be asking yourself what is the best social media platform to use for lead generation? A lot of marketers think that Facebook is the correct platform due to its staggering number of monthly active users—but that’s not always the case. For B2B, 44% have generated leads through LinkedIn, while 39% have done it through Facebook. Twitter comes in third with 30% (Source: LinkedIn).

So, the answer is simple—focus on the channel that your customers or target audience use. Fish where the fishes are.

Rhink about lead generation as a tool to gather intelligence on your customers rather than think of it as selling—it’s bringing people into your sales funnel.
Prior to starting a campaign for lead generation, make sure you are familiar with the demographics of the different platforms. If they line up with your target market, then you're on the right track.

Optimize your profile
Make sure everything is in place prior to collecting leads organically.
Is your complete contact information there?
Do you have a link in your bio or social media page?
Do you have a call to action in place?

These questions will help you check the basics and incorporate them on your pages to ensure your profile acts as a bridge for your customers to get in touch with you, sign up, shop, and more.

Personalise your offer
Personalising your offers can make substantial contributions on your campaign. In fact, according to MediaPost.com, most marketers are putting personalization first when it comes to improving the quality of their leads.

You can run separate campaigns for different audiences so it resonates more with them than creating a campaign that targets your audience all at once.

Remember, your strategy should always line up with your marketing goals and the audience you’re trying to reach. Plan your attack thoroughly from beginning to end. Once you find an approach that works, change the theme, update, and repeat. Double down on what works, and you’ll have yourself a
proven lead generating machine.

WHY SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSES OUTSOURCE social media content creation

1/6/2020

Managing your business isn’t a walk in the park—after all, it comes with a great deal of challenges. And while you wonder how the big guns of the business landscape are keeping up with the overwhelming and non-ending stream of work and still manage to sky rocket their success without blowing up their
balance sheets, take heed: it’s all just about outsourcing.

And while you may enjoy wearing many hats in the workplace, for all businesses there really are vital tasks that are too time consuming for you that in the end can distract your focus and dilute your passion.

Let's talk about one vital business task that requires a lot of time weekly, graphic design and creative skills, copy writing skills, research skills, branding and marketing knowledge skills..... yes, it's social media marketing.

Given the above, let’s delve deeper to some reasons why outsourcing social media marketing might be the key to your business success:

1. Reclaim your time and increase productivity
Time first, money second. I know you will all agree when we say that time is the most valuable asset we have today in every aspect of our lives. After all, money cannot buy you even one of those milliseconds back.

Just how crucial time is for each one of us, the same thing rings true for the time you spend managing your business. Successful business owners put their time and effort into developing ideas, creating new relationships to help further their business growth as well as analyzing research around their market and product.

Without these, you have a little to no chance of breaking out the crevice that exists between startup and growth. To reclaim your time, it’s time to follow the clever herd and outsource time consuming tasks to an Agency. You focus on tackling core functions that demand your expertise while getting other tasks attended to by an Agency of professionals in their field.

2. Streamline and curb business costs
This may be one of the primary reasons why more businesses turn to agencies when outsourcing. Research shows that it’s a staggering 78% on savings when outsourcing tasks to an Agency over a full-time employee. It also saves you on office space and equipment costs.

3. Increase flexibility and work-life balance
Aren’t we all dreaming to achieve a work-life balance? Through outsourcing tasks to an Agency, work-life balance is only within arms reach by affording you the benefit of time. With trusted assistants in place to help manage, oversee and tick-off tasks from your to-do list helps ease the workload and not to mention the stress you face daily. You’re basically taking back your social life.

Outsourcing social media marketing tasks to an Agency helps put your operations in place for continued growth and scalability.

KEY SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING TRENDS THAT WILL SHAPE 2020

2/12/2019

Social media is continuously advancing along with the changes in habits and platforms; what greatly worked a few months ago might not get you the same results now. Isn’t it just the nature of social itself, is it?

Now is the time to step back, reflect and refocus your business approach to social media for the year ahead.

Here are the key social marketing trends for you to keep an eye on that will help you to stay ahead of the curve:

1. Video content
Did you know that 6 out of 10 people would rather watch online videos than television?

Video content is no new trend and it may not even come as a surprise to you that video remains and continues to be the best performing digital content type that doesn’t just drive the most views but also generates the most engagements among any other digital posting option.

YouTube, after all, is ranked the second most popular website after Google. And as most social media users utilize their mobile phones to browse the world wide web, mobile consumption rises by 100% per year with 55% users view online videos every day.

So, if you are able to make video content as part of your digital marketing strategy, now is a great time to focus on building that content and ramp up your social media game.

2. Active, Engaging and Social
If you think that all it takes to gain social media traction is to update it on a regular, then it really is the time to step up your game. There are a lot of brands out there who have a huge following but lagging behind their engagement with their audience. Ignoring or simply not taking the time
to interact with your audience is never the way to go.

A huge chunk of a meaningful experience on social media is the way that businesses or brands engage with their audience. While uploading or sharing posts that you believe will fascinate your audience is part of keeping your social media presence abreast, you also need to encourage and cultivate interactions that are more than a simple like or share.

Through engaging with your audience and actively listening to them, you can gain control how your brand is viewed and spoken about online.

3. Micro-influencers
The rise of fake influencers has paved the way for brands to rightfully put them under a microscope with a great sense of scrutiny.

And while influencers aren’t going anywhere this 2020, micro-influencers are becoming more sought after compared to their macro-influencer counterparts.

Using just your smartphone and some of the best photo editing apps, you can easily create Instagram-worthy photos whenever and wherever you like!

We thought we’d share our top 5 favourite photo editors so you could create beautiful photos for your feed. Don’t worry. We made sure to include apps available for both iOS and Android so no one is left out.

#5 – Facetune 2 by Lightricks Ltd.

Influencers and brands that post a lot of “selfies” and portraits will love this app. That’s because it can do so much more than remove blemishes. Facetune 2 lets you tweak bone structure, apply faux make-up, and instantly whiten teeth just to name a few.
Unlike Adobe Photoshop, it isn’t as intimidating. It’s also more user-friendly than the original Facetune app thanks to its sliding bars and built-in tutorials. Facetune 2 is free to download but if you opt for a paid yearly subscription worth $9.99, you get full access to their facial enhancement features.

Take professional editing to your smartphone with Photoshop Express. It has all the features you would expect of a photo editor – like crop, rotate, smooth, and remove red eye. But if you want to create more interesting images with layering effects, you might want to pay the premium so you could access advanced features.

#2 – VSCO: Photo & Video Editor by Visual Supply Company
Cost: Free (with in-app purchases)
VSCO is hands-down one of the best apps for content creation. Apart from the usual editing tools and sliders that allow for quick adjustments, you can also take photos and videos straight from the app. There are a bunch of cool filters and effects too. Though if you want more, you can always purchase extra photo filter packs from their store.

#1 – Snapseed by Google LLC
Cost: Free
If you want a no-nonsense photo editing tool, this is it. Snapseed is equipped with over 20 tools and features. It lets you do all the basic stuff such as crop and straighten, adding text, applying filters, or changing the saturation, temperature, and sharpness of images. However, it also comes with advanced features like removing objects from the background and isolating areas for editing.
Snapseed lets you apply multiple filters at a time. Other remarkable features include the ability to compare edits and reverse changes you’ve made. Even though it takes a bit of learning curb, it’s easily the most powerful photo editor once you get past the initial hurdle.

7 Post Ideas That Will Drive Social Media Engagement

1/10/2019

Picture
Social media isn’t a game of who gets the most followers. It’s about attracting the right audiences and “converting” them from fans to customers. Every social media platform plays by different rules, so there’s no single effective strategy for reaching this goal. But generally, you should focus on putting out engaging content.

You want posts that your target market would actually be interested in, and maybe get them to buy from you. But if you haven’t a clue of what to post, here are some great ideas to get you started:

1. At work photos
Works for: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedInPeople like to see who runs a business and what goes on behind the scenes. When you share photos of employees and what they do at the office, it humanises your brand and makes you more relatable and trustworthy. Don’t forget to include short descriptions with each photo so your audiences know what they’re looking at.

2. Educational content
Works for:
You can never go wrong with tips and other information which followers can learn from. It could be a video tutorial of your new product, infographics, or some interesting research related to your field.

3. Customer reviews
Works for: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
Don’t be afraid to share reviews on your feed. In a study conducted by Reevoo, they found that 70% of consumers place more value in customer reviews than they do on professionally-written copy. People are also more likely to buy products and services with positive reviews.

4. Funny videos or photos
Works for: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter
People like to be entertained. So consider sharing funny clips and photos that you created to drive engagement. This strategy isn’t for everyone but it can work for influencers, personalities, and some small businesses.

5. Ask a question
Works for:
Ask your followers a question they couldn’t resist – and start a poll. You can do it for fun, to get fresh ideas and inspiration for a new product, or learn more about the needs of your audience.

6. Latest blog post
Works for:
Unless your followers are glued to your blog (which, they probably aren’t), it would be wise to share the link to your latest blog post so they could stay up-to-date. This increases the engagement on your social media and helps drive traffic to your website.
Tip: Instagram doesn’t let you share clickable links from your feed, but you can place it on your bio. The trick is to post a related photo with a description that says “Click the link on my bio” so your followers know where to find it.

7. Company accomplishments
Works for: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
Did you recently get an award? Or maybe you got featured in the news? Brag about these milestones on your feed. It’s going to increase your credibility among followers and make them trust you more.

More Tips for Posting on Social Media:
On a final note, only share high-resolution photos on your social media. Low-quality photos will reflect badly on your brand. You should also try using emojis with your posts. Studies show it increases click-through rates. And lastly, experiment with different types of content until you discover which ones work best for your audience.

What You Need To Know About Using Hashtags On Instagram

2/9/2019

Picture
So you know you need to use hashtags but you’ve no idea where to start?

Here’s a handy starter guide to what you need to know about using hashtags on Instagram.

You Can Use 30 Hashtags Per Post - however check the current stats on the number of hashtags that receive the most engagement and run with that.
According to an analysis by TrackMaven, posts with nine hashtags receive the most engagement. (February 2019). As with all things social media, things can change overnight, so keep your eye on any changes frequently.

Picture

Conduct Hashtag Research
There’s no point using hashtags unless you know they’re relevant for your image and for your accounts.

Hashtags should be used to attract new followers so using the right ones is crucial.

There are a few ways to approach hashtag research. You could start by going through your account to see what posts have the best engagement and then seeing if there are any common hashtags between these posts.

Look at your niche and what are relevant and popular hashtags for your industry that could help you to be seen by more people.

Look At What Hashtags Other Accounts Are Using
Another way to research hashtags is to look at what hashtags other accounts in your niche are using.

See what kind of engagement they’re getting on their posts and what hashtags they’re using.

Make a list of ones to test on your own posts and monitor the results to see if they’re worth adding to your hashtag collections.

Add Them To Your Stories
Did you know you can add hashtags to your stories too? This is one of the best ways to get your stories seen by accounts that aren’t already following you.

You can add one official hashtag to each story using the # option on the sticker tab, but you can also add more hashtags to written text in your stories too.

Use Hashtags To Attract Followers
Hashtags are designed to help you get seen by people who aren’t following you currently.

That’s why it’s so crucial to use the right kind of hashtags.

Look at the volume associated with each one – if it’s got 1 million plus posts, chances are you won’t get too much visibility with it.

Make collections of hashtags that have a range of volumes – for example:

5 hashtags with 20k posts or less
5 hashtags with 20k-50k posts
5 hashtags with 50-100k posts
5 hashtags with 100-500k posts
5 hashtags with 500k+ posts

Don’t Use Spammy Hashtags
There are heaps of spammy hashtags on Instagram. They make your account look desperado for followers so you want to avoid using these.

They include ones such as:

#follow
#like
#comment
#likeforfollow
#followforfollow
#likeforlike

Find out more about spammy and banned hashtags on Instagram here.

Use Hashtags That Are Relevant To Your Image
Always make sure at least a few of your hashtags are relevant to your image and unique from your saved sets of hashtags.

This tells Instagram that you aren’t a bot and have taken the time to post unique content to the platform – something they love.

Track Results Through Insights
Once you start putting some serious effort into your hashtags, you’ll want to track them to see how they’re performing.

You can do this via Instagram insights if you’re using a business account (which you should be!).

Look at what reach and engagement your posts are getting and see if you can find patterns as to what hashtags may have helped you achieve better results.

When looking at your reach via IG Stories it clearly shows you how many people you reached due to each individual hashtag so they’re a great way to see which hashtags are bringing you new eyeballs and followers.

Would you rather let someone else take care of your hashtags and IG posts? Then you need the team at Frame Social Media.

5 Common Mistakes When Marketing On Facebook

1/8/2019

Introduction: Spotting the difference between right and wrong
Marketing on Facebook may seem like a walk in the park. After all, we’ve all been on Facebook for as long as ten years and have used it virtually everyday. So what’s not to know? We’ve seen it all.

Wrong.

Applying Facebook to your marketing needs have a number of specific unwritten rules that need to be considered in order to be effective. Beyond the effectiveness of your posts, there are also a number of practices that one should stay away from if you want to actually build your network, and business.

What Not To Do
Below is a list of the 5 most important mistakes that are commonly made. Make sure you avoid these if you want to have a successful Facebook page.
  1. Seperate Your Profile From Your Business - Do not use your personal profile to market your business. Profiles have no analytics and you will not be able to see the much needed information of engagement and without this, it would be impossible to detect if your strategies are working or not.
  2. Do Not Post URLs That Are Shortened - We understand that it is the current trend now to use third-party tools like Tweetdeck in order to shorten lengthy URLs for sites like Twitter. But did you know that a study was conducted wherein it was concluded that full length URL’s actually get clicked on three times more? (https://www.dummies.com/business/marketing/social-media-marketing/10-common-facebook-marketing-mistakes-and-how-to-avoid-them/)
  3. Posting At The Right Time - This may not seem as obvious at first, but keep in mind that most people have full time jobs that keep them off Facebook for the most part of the week day. If you are having a hard time posting at the most appropriate time, which is either early in the morning or early in the evening, you can use a tool called Post Planner that will allow you to schedule your posts.
  4. Do Not Say Too Much - There’s a reason why Twitter is such an effective site and application. People tend to live lives in hyperspeed these days and no longer have the same attention span that they used to have a few decades ago. So only say what makes perfect sense and leave the rest out of it.
  5. Comments Are Your Friends - It is vital to keep in mind that anyone who goes through the trouble of leaving a comment, deserves your attention as well. Facebook pages that consistently ignore comments end up become ignored pages themselves. Your fans want to be heard and if they don’t receive that contentment, they are going to look for it somewhere else.

Conclusion: Facebook is your friend, treat it right
Marketing your brand on Facebook may be one of the smartest business moves you can ever do. There are literally millions of people all around the world who use Facebook for even up to a few hours in a single day. However, a word to the wise, use it appropriately.

We listed 5 common mistakes that may seem simple but could be detrimental. So take note of these and enjoy long and prosperous business relations with your clients through Facebook.

So you’ve written your social media post and it’s almost time to hit ‘publish’.

But wait – what images are you going to use for it?

All good social media posts need a great header image to help attract attention when they’re shared online, so where can you find great images that won’t break the bank?

Here are our 5 favourite places to find great images for your social media channels.

Unsplash
Over the last few years, Unsplash has become one of the go-to websites for stock images for online use.

They have an amazing collection of photographs that could fit almost any topic you could imagine.

Their photographers offer their photos under the Creative Commons license. This means that they ceded all rights to their work so you’re free to use these images for personal or commercial use.

To be safe though, we always recommend checking the individual license notes on any photo you download to use for your website or social media channels.

Pexels
Similar to Unsplash, Pexels also offers stock images that you can use for your socials and website.

Pexels has a broad range of images and you can search for almost anything – people, emotions, animals, places, landscapes – and you’re sure to find a suitable (and beautiful!) image.

All photos are free to use and attribution is not required (although crediting the photographer is always appreciated).  You can also modify their photos for commercial use.

Canva
I’m sure you already know all about Canva and how to use it to make posts for your social media accounts, but did you know they recently acquired stock photo libraries Pexels and Pixabay?

In May 2019, this acquisition meant that Canva added over 1 million free stock photos to their database.

No longer do you have to find images elsewhere and upload them to Canva for use – you can simply find them right in Canva!

They’ve also added a new stock photo subscription option called Photos Unlimited, offering all you can use images for just US$120 per year.

Website - https://www.canva.com/

Death To The Stock Photo
Death To The Stock Photo describes themselves as offering ‘authentic non-stock photos and videos’.

They have a subscription model and pricing starts from $12 per month. Currently they have over 3,500 photos and release a new media pack each month as well.

Burst
If you’ve got an e-commerce website, Burst could be one of your new favourite sites for sourcing images.

It’s owned by Shopify and has a fab range of photos which have been curated by business type.

You can choose to download the images as high or low resolution as well.

Why Is Social Media Important For Business?

3/6/2019

Picture
There are no longer any considerations on whether businesses should invest in social media marketing. Every business needs to have a social media presence.

If you’re not convinced, know this: there are over three billion people from all over the planet who are engaged in social media monthly. Surely with that many people, it must be more than a trend and more likely, a marketing tool that is not about to go anywhere anytime soon.

The best part about social media is that you don’t need to spend years studying it, or even know search engine optimization, or keywords; anyone can create a social media account right now and begin connecting and communicating with their target market and customers, and marketing their products.

Reaping The Benefits Of Social Media
Let’s discuss just a few of the reasons that make it not only important for your business, but in all honesty, essential:

1. Social media builds awareness - if your potential customers don’t know about you, there’s no way for them to become your customers. Social media allows businesses to be seen and gives them various opportunities to be marketed in order to reach specific target markets. Let’s not forget that building multiple social media accounts will cost you zero dollars.

2. Businesses are given the opportunity to showcase their authority - let’s not dumb it down, customers know much more than we think they do and are now able to discern more thoroughly than in the past. By creating a well thought of, engaging, and informative social media account, your customers, both old and new, will know that you speak with knowledge and authority and they will in turn trust you and may turn into customers.

3. An opportunity for authenticity - let the personality of your brand shine through the images that you post on your social media accounts. Understand that you have a voice and that you speak a certain language, use that power to talk to your customers and show them something that will touch them now that you have the power to step away from dry and boring messages that look like you’re just trying to make a sale.

Applying What You Now Know
Understand your audience as you best can and find the tone of how you speak that makes them listen. Study the photos and videos that catch their attention. Encourage your audience to engage with you and offer the support that they need now that they can speak to you directly as opposed to having to go through the answering machine of your customer service.

With some care and practice you’ll soon find yourself growing and will see that there are many marketing campaigns that can be run through your social media account/s.

Social media is a powerful force that can help your business so give it the respect it has earned and watch it do wonders for you!

7 Social Media tools we love

3/5/2019

Is it just me, or does it feel like there’s a tool for almost anything these days? It can be so overwhelming to know what tools are right for your business and which ones are worth investing in, so I’ve put together my shortlist of just a few of social media tools we love to use here at Frame Social Media.

Canva
If you haven’t heard of Canva, you’ve been seriously missing out!

Ever wondered how people make gorgeous images overlaid with text and their logo? Or managed to resize the same image to suit dimensions across several social media channels?

Chances are they’re using Canva.

Created by Melanie Perkins from Perth, Canva has taken the world by storm and it’s not hard to see why.

With limited (or even zero!) graphic design skills, you can use Canva to create images and gifs for your social media channels, plus all sorts of other things like logos, invitations, email headers, resumes, book covers and more.

Best thing is, they have a free version and a paid version. The paid version is well worth the annual fee of less than $120 (US dollars) so if there’s room for one paid social media tool for your business, Canva is an excellent choice.

Facebook Insights
Got a Facebook page for your business? Then you need to be checking your Facebook Insights.

This tool gives you an insane amount of data on your page, your followers and the engagement you’re getting on your posts (which is what Facebook is all about these days).

Use Facebook Insights to discover which posts are performing best, where your likers are in the world, what time they’re online, and even how your competitors’ pages are performing!

Facebook Insights are completely free to access so don’t ignore this treasure trove of data which will help you plan your social strategy.

Wave Video
Video is where social media is at this year. If you aren’t using video for your business, you’re probably missing out on reaching your audience when it matters most.

Original videos outperform shared ones by miles, so if you’ve been relying on just sharing videos, you’re outta luck.

But it’s hard to make great videos right? I mean, you have to film and then edit to make it all fit together and flow, and that’s just so tricky if you don’t have the right skills and tools.

Enter Wave Video.

You can use Wave Video to create branded videos for your social channels or for your website.

Their free version is worth signing up for so you can play around with how to edit videos for your business.  But you can’t add your own logo or watermark in the free version.

The paid packages start from $99 (US dollars) per year, but often you get really great deals and can pick up an annual plan for just $9 – so keep an eye out for any promos or discount codes (usually from affiliates or during the Black Friday sales).

BuzzSumo
If you’re wanting to keep track of what content is getting attention and shares, then you need BuzzSumo in your life.

It’s not a cheap social media tool by any means, but what it can do for your social media strategy is phenomenal.

BuzzSumo allows you to discover what content is being shared and what influencers are trending. You can search for specific topics or content or you can use it to monitor your competitors by entering their website URL.

The information you can see is very limited if you don’t have a paid plan, and the cheapest one starts at $948 (US dollars) annually. But if you can afford it and take your content and social media strategy seriously, it’s worth investing in this social media tool for your business.

Instagram Analytics
Just like Facebook Analytics, you can get heaps of useful information from Instagram Analytics.

The only requirement to access this data is that you need to have a business account, not a personal one.

Some people say business accounts get less reach than personal ones, but this isn’t a proven fact, and even if it was true, the benefits of having a business account in Instagram far outweigh the negatives.

With this social media tool, you can discover how many times your profile has been visited, how many accounts you’ve reached, how your posts have performed, plus insights into your audience (including their location, age and gender).

Tailwind
When it comes to social media tools for Pinterest specifically, the one that is always mentioned is Tailwind.

You can use Tailwind to pin to multiple boards at the same time, bulk upload your pins and schedule pins as well. It even recommends when to schedule your pins based on when your followers are online.

It also includes a hashtag lists, and a drag and drop calendar which will make your scheduling as easy as pie.

The browser extension for Tailwind is equally handy – it means you can easily create multiple posts from any website with just one click.

You can sign up for a free trial and paid options are $15 per month or $120 annually (US dollars).

Buffer
One of the leading social media tools, Buffer should be on your list of tools to use for social media scheduling.

You can plan and schedule content to multiple platforms in Buffer, and posts will automatically publish at your specified times.

You can schedule posts for Facebook pages and groups, Instagram accounts (personal or business accounts), Twitter profiles, and LinkedIn profiles and pages. If you’re on a Pro or Business plan, you can also add Pinterest boards into the mix.

Like Tailwind, it has its own browser extension as well, allowing you to create content for your social channels while spending time online.

And that’s my round up of some of my favourite social media tools! What are some social media tools that you love?

If you need someone who can find the right social media tools to manage and grow your social following, speak to us today.

Social Media Best Practice - What To Do & What Not Do On Your Chosen Channels

2/4/2019

Picture
As with any industry, social media has its own set of rules relating to best practice. Not only that, but each channel has its own list of do’s and don’ts that really shouldn’t be ignored.

Here are some key tips for social media best practice for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Facebook
What To Do

Post Consistently
Create a posting schedule and try to stick to it. Leave room for some time-sensitive or trending topic posts but get your audience used to the regular rhythm of your posting. This makes them familiar with your brand and leads to increased brand awareness and eventually, recognition too.

Complete As Much Information On Your Page As Possible
If there’s a field that applies to your business, fill it in! Add your website URL, opening hours, phone number, email address, and anything else you can. The more people know about your business from their first visit, the easier it is for them to connect with you.

Set An Easy To Recognise Profile Picture And Cover Image
Make sure you use a profile picture that clearly identifies you or your brand. Carry your branding through your cover image or video as well. People need to be able to instantly recognise your posts in their newsfeed as belonging to you and a clear profile picture will help.

Use Video, Live Video and Images
Facebook loves video content at the moment, especially live videos. Live videos not only reach people while you are live, but also for a time after the video has ended. Gone are the days when using video was optional – it’s something you should be planning into your content regularly.

If you really can’t face doing regular videos, make sure you are using unique images in your posts. These often outperform text and link posts and ones with stock images.

What Not To Do

Post Erratically
Don’t post 3 times in one day and then nothing for 3 weeks. Be consistent when you post and use a scheduling tool to help you save time and stress about what to post.

Use Different Tones Of Voice, Branding And Colours
Keep your branding, colours and tone of your posts consistent. This builds trust with your audience.

Take Too Long To Respond To Messages
It’s hard to switch off from work when people are able to message us all hours of the day and night. Set business hours on your page if you want people to know when to expect a reply. But don’t take days to reply – reply as soon as you can within your set hours.

Instagram

What To Do

Post Consistently
Just like Facebook, consistency is key. This is especially so since Instagram ditched chronological news feeds.  You need to post regularly in order to be seen in your followers newsfeeds.

Use All 30 Hashtags
Instagram lets you use a maximum of 30 hashtags in order to be found – use them all!

It’s such a waste if you only use 5 hashtags and there is no reason not to use all 30.

Use Your Bio To Its Full Advantage
You should be using a business account in Instagram so make sure you take full advantage of every character allowed in your bio. Don’t waffle, keep it short and snappy but include all information possible to make your bio stand out.

What Not To Do

Use Hashtags With Millions Of Posts
Use hashtags wisely. If you’re a small local florist in Melbourne, there’s no point using #love – it has over 1 billion posts!

Find hashtags that are right for your business and that people will actually use to find your content.

Ignore Your Audience
When your audience comments on your posts, make sure to reply to them. Instagram loves engagement and will serve your content to more people if it sees comments and likes on your post.

Buy Followers
Just don’t. Fake followers are only going to hurt your brand, reputation and account in the long run so while a bump in numbers might look good, when people dig deeper it’s clear to see they’ve been bought.

 Twitter
What To Do

Post About Live And Trending Topics
Twitter is all about what’s happening right now. Use it to share news and views on trending topics.

Engage With Other Users
Twitter is all about conversations. Start them, get involved with them and share them. It can also help your brand get noticed by the people you want to find you.

Check Before You Tweet
It’s super frustrating but Twitter has no edit button. Once you’ve sent that tweet, there’s no editing allowed so make sure there are no typos before you post!

What Not To Do

Overtweet
Unless it’s an epic story that won’t fit into one tweet, don’t overtweet. No one needs to hear from you 50 times a day on Twitter!

Don’t Use Too Many Hashtags
Be selective with your hashtags on Twitter. It can make your tweets hard to read if #every second #word is #hashtagged. Use hashtags that will get you eyeballs, and not annoy your followers.

Retweet Without Tweaking/Commenting
Retweeting is great, but try to put your own spin on it. Add a comment and give your take on the topic.

LinkedIn
What To Do

Connect With People You Know, Or Want To Know
Don’t be that person that adds everyone under the sun for no reason other than to collect connections. Choose your connections carefully, based on people you’ve worked with or would like to work with.

Personalise your URL
Some people are still unaware they can personalise their profile URL. Make sure to personalise your URL to your name or brand (or both) instead of it being a random string of letters and numbers.

Use An Appropriate Photo
LinkedIn is one platform where you NEED to have an up to date profile photo. Check it at least once a year and give it a refresh when needed.

What Not To Do

Add Everyone Under The Sun
You don’t need to connect with everyone who commented on your ex-colleague’s post. Don’t be trigger happy and click that connect button on everyone and anyone.

Send A Generic Connection Request
When you do choose to connect with people, the best thing you can do is add a personalised note to the request. You’re so much more likely to have them accept and even reply to your connection request when you include a personal message sharing why you’ve asked to connect and who you are.

Forget Its Original Purpose
LinkedIn might be one of the fastest growing social media platforms but don’t forget why it was created in the first place. It’s a place to connect with colleagues, business partners and clients – not your mates. Keep it professional at all times.

How to calculate your ROI from social media

4/3/2019

Picture
Having active social media channels is essential for any business owner, but it does take time to plan, schedule and manage your social media. So how can you tell if it’s really worth your time and effort?

All your business activities and marketing should generate a return on investment (ROI) otherwise it’s really not worth doing.

We take a look at how to calculate your ROI from social media.

What Is Social Media ROI?
Technically speaking, social media ROI is the sum of all your activity on social media that creates value for your business.

That value could be sales and bookings, but it could also be things like engagement and brand awareness.

What you include in your social media ROI calculation depends on the objectives of your business. Do you only care about sales? Do you want to drive more engagement to reach more people via your organic social activities? Do you want more people to recognise and recommend your brand?

Why Do You Need To Measure Social Media ROI?
Just like any other marketing activity, it needs to generate you a return on your investment – whether the investment is time, money, or both.

You wouldn’t want to spend money on advertising and then have no idea if it was worth your spend, and the same goes for social media.

How Do You Calculate Your Social Media ROI?
There are many different formulas you can use to calculate your social media ROI.

One of the most commonly used and accepted formulas is:
Profit / Investment x 100 = social media ROI %

If you need to work out your profit, use this calculation:
Revenue – Investment = Profit

An example would be if you ran a Facebook ad and spent $100. As a result, you sell 10 products at $100 each, so total sales are $1000. The products cost you $50 each to make.

To work out your profit you would do the following:
$1000 (revenue) - $500 (investment) = $500 (profit)
$500 (profit) / $100 (investment) = 5 x100 = 500% ROI

Tools To Help You Calculate Social Media ROI
Facebook Pixel – essential for seeing how many people engaged with your ads, and which clicks resulted in conversions (find out how to get started here)

Custom URLs – creating custom URLs can help you see which ads or posts drove conversions on your website (Google’s URL builder is super simple to use for this)

Other Elements To Consider
Sometimes it’s not all about the sale. You can measure your social media ROI with regards to engagement on your channels too.

The formula to measure social media engagement is:
Likes +comments + shares + video views / follower count x 100

Don’t get fixated on short term gains alone. You should also think about a customer’s lifetime value and factor this into any ROI calculations.

5 Reasons Why Your Business Needs A Social Media Presence

4/2/2019

Picture
As a business owner, I know you’ve probably got a whole heap of things on your to-do list.

From conversing with clients and balancing your books to updating your website and, oh yeah, actually doing the work, it can sometimes seem like there are never enough hours in the day.

So when you’re being told that your business needs a social media presence, you might be hesitant to add yet another thing to your already-full plate.

But hear me out.

Your business really does need a social media presence. And here’s why.

You Need To Hang Out Where Your Clients Are

Everyone is online and connected these days. Social media is one of the main ways people connect with each other. And not just friends and family, they connect with businesses and brands as well.

Having a social media presence on the channels where your clients, or potential clients, hang out is essential. Don’t feel like you need to be on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest and LinkedIn all the time though! Pick your channels wisely. Go for the ones where your ideal clients are hanging out and make sure you do those channels well.

Instagram released stats last year to show that 67% of Australian users between the ages 18-34 use Instagram to find new products, services, businesses or organisations.

Being present where your clients are means you’ve got the chance to appear in their news feed and remind them of your business, whether it’s with a behind the scenes organic post or a targeted marketing advert.

Keeping your brand front of mind with your clients is a key part of the buyer journey.

It Helps You Understand Who Your Ideal Audience Is

When you’ve got social media channels in place for your business, you’ll have access to an insane amount of data on your followers.

From where they live, what language they speak, and their age, to what day of the week they’re mostly coming to your page, what times they’re online, and way, way more.

All this data, combined with Google Analytics data from your website, can help to show you if your socials are attracting your ideal customer and what sort of content is resonating with them.

This information is so valuable and can help to inform your marketing strategies both online and offline.

People Will Check Your Social Channels As Part Of The Buying Process

People don’t buy immediately when they discover a new business (well, very rarely anyway).

I don’t know about you, but I like to suss out a business across the board before I’ll hit send on their contact form or place my online order.

I’ll search for them on Facebook and Instagram at a minimum, checking out how active they are and what sort of content they’re sharing.

If I come across two businesses, and one posts engaging content regularly and the other hasn’t posted anything for 6 months, guess which one is most likely to get my business?

Social Media Builds Trust, Authority And Recognition

Having active and well-managed social media channels will help your brand to build trust and authority.

If you’re constantly sharing news, helpful advice and interesting snippets from your niche, this will position you online as someone who knows what they are talking about and who can be trusted if someone chooses to engage your services or buy your products.

It also establishes you as a recognisable brand when people see you regularly in their newsfeed. You can go from being nowhere on their radar to being instantly noticed and recognised, but only if you’re present and updating your channels regularly.

Social Proof Helps Drive Sales

I’m sure you’ve come across the term social proof before.

It can apply to celebrities and influencers sure, but also to us mere mortals.

If you’re looking for somewhere new to try for brunch, what restaurant are you more likely to pick: the one with 159 awesome reviews from strangers on Trip Advisor or the one that 3 of your friends have recommended on Facebook? I’d hazard a guess at the latter.

How our friends and family engage with businesses online has a massive impact on where we decide to spend our money as a consumer. A Nielsen Harris Poll in the US showed that 67% of Americans are more likely to purchase a product that’s been shared on social media or email by a friend or family member. And that’s going to be the same in Australia and around the globe.

The more engagement you can drive on your social media channels, the more social proof you can leverage that can then result in actual sales for your business.

And who wouldn’t want that?

How Many Followers Do I Need On Social Media To Be Successful?

8/1/2019

Picture
It’s a question we get all the time here at Frame Social Media, and frankly, it’s one that isn’t particularly relevant in 2019.

So many people these days are still measuring their success on social media by their follower count alone, but followers and likes mean very little if you’re not getting any engagement or sales.

It’s Not About The Numbers

Social media success is no longer measured by follower numbers. Likes and follows are purely vanity metrics these days.

There used to be a lot of emphasis placed on how many followers your accounts had to determine how successful your business was, but with the rise of automated bots and likes, especially on Instagram, these stats can no longer be taken at face value.

It’s All About Engagement

Engagement on the other hand, is a much clearer indication of how well your brand is doing on social media.

Engagements could be likes and reactions, comments, or shares, depending on the platform in question.

How engaged your followers are, however, is a much more valuable statistic to monitor.

If you’re posting content that your followers regularly react to, comment on, or share on their own profiles and pages, that helps build your brand much more than increasing your follower count.

Yes it can help build social proof to have a large following on a particular social media channel, however, if no-one is engaging with you, their value is practically worthless.

What would you be more likely to trust – a brand that consistently posts, always replies to comments and questions, and shares user-generated content, or a brand that posts regularly and ignores any interaction from its followers?

Other Social Media Metrics That REALLY Matter

Engagement can then be further broken down into several components to measure your overall success, and what kind of content is generating the best results for your business.

They include:

Reactions
Reactions are commonly known as likes, but on platforms like Facebook, there are other reactions to choose from as well – love, angry, sad, wow and haha.

When people use a reaction that isn’t the like reaction, it shows an extra level of engagement with your content as it takes more effort for a user to choose a particular reaction, as opposed to simply tapping the like button.

Mentions
When someone tags your page or account, either in a post or a comment, you’ll get a notification that you’ve been mentioned.

Mentions are great for brand awareness as people have taken the time to tag you and engage with you. It also helps you reach a whole set of new people that may not have seen you before (namely the audience of the person who tagged you).

Reach
Reach can be seen on your social media insights. The more likes, comments and shares your post has, the higher your reach will be.

Take a look through your insights and see what posts have had the highest reach.

This will help you work out what sort of content is the most successful – remember that different channels could have different results even if you’re posting the same content on multiple channels, as your audience could be different from one platform to the next.

Comments
Comments are one of the key measures of engagement on social media that drive your success on social.

They take a lot of effort for people who are generally time-poor so platforms like Facebook and Instagram regard comments very highly when it comes to how their algorithm distributes your post in your followers’ newsfeed.

Referral Traffic To Your Website
Don’t forget to keep an eye on how many people are visiting your website from social media.

You can see this in your Google Analytics account, and it’s a great way to see what channels are sending you the best quality traffic.

If you’re spending all your time trying to build your Instagram following, but 90% of your social traffic and sales is coming from Facebook, then is it really worth your time and effort to dedicate to Instagram?

So if you’ve been hung up on your follower count, you can finally relax.

It’s not all about how many followers you need before you can count yourself as successful. It’s all about how people engage with your brand and how you engage back with them.

8 Ways To Get More Instagram Engagement Overnight

3/12/2018

Picture
Instagram can be one of the most frustrating platforms to get decent engagement on – it’s often seen as full of fakers and people who just follow you and then unfollow shortly afterwards.

But when used well, it can be one of the most rewarding platforms for your business too.

Here are 8 ways to get more Instagram engagement overnight, plus bonus one at the end, so keep reading!

1. Post Regularly
Just like Facebook, your followers are more likely to see and engage with your content if you post regularly.

At least once a day is recommended, and the more followers you gain, the more you should post, as not everyone will see every post you create.

Work out a schedule of posting that you can cope with, or invest in a tool like Onlypult or Plann that allows you to schedule content in advance for Instagram.

2. Don’t Ignore The Power Of Stories
Stories are a great way to get eyeballs for your brand. They appear at the top of the Instagram feed and whenever new content is posted, your stories will show to your followers.

It’s much easier to get seen via Stories than the main feed these days, and it gives you another chance to get in front of your followers.

If they haven’t seen a post of yours for a while, a story can remind them that they follow you and get them to check out your account.

Use interactive elements in your stories as well to grab their attention and get them to engage – polls, questions and gifs can keep them watching the whole story and not just tapping forward.

3. Engage With Other Accounts In Your Niche
This is one of the most crucial tips for Instagram engagement. You want people to engage with you right? Engagement isn’t a one way street – if you want people to engage with you, you need to engage with them too.

It’s like going to a party, standing in a dark corner and then wondering why no-one is talking to you. You need to get out there and mingle, say hi and start a conversation.

Follow other accounts in your niche and engage with them when they post new content. The sooner the better. Getting an early comment on a new post will help your comment be seen by others who see the post later and then they might head over to check you out.

But make sure your comments are actually engaging and thoughtful. Don’t be a spammer and just leave an emoji, or say things like ‘nice shot’ or ‘love your feed’.

4. Write Longer Captions
Did you know that the character limit for captions on Instagram is currently 2,200? That’s around 300 words (practically a short essay!).

One of the algorithm factors for Instagram is how long people spend on each post. So why not write a longer caption and keep them reading for longer?

Make it relevant though. Don’t just waffle for the sake of fluffing it out for 2,200 characters.

5. Do Your Hashtag Research
Everyone knows that hashtags are a great way to increase your reach and your engagement from people who may be interested in the kind of content you’re posting.

But using the right hashtags is essential. Spend a few hours doing hashtag research. See what other accounts in your niche are using and what kind of engagement those posts with those hashtags are getting.

Look at how many times the hashtag has been used overall. Bigger hashtags mean it’s going to be much harder to be seen by the right followers. Smaller hashtags means you’re probably not going to be seen at all.

6. Post Videos
An interesting stat to notice is that video posts get 38% more engagement than image posts.

Adding videos to your Insta feed can be a great way to get more views. They also get more comments.

Just make sure any videos you post are relevant for your account.

7. Know When To Post
Have a look at your Instagram Analytics and see when your followers are mostly online.

This will help you post at the right times to help maximise your reach and engagement.

Don’t just post randomly when you remember.

8. Always Reply To Comments
Every comment on your post counts as engagement for the Instagram algorithm. Even if it’s your own!

So every time someone comments on your post, hit like and reply to it. You’ll be doubling your comments, starting a conversation with your audience and driving a whole heap of engagement to your post.
